About Youth Ministry at St. Pius X Parish, Brantford, ON

Andrew Beach has recently taken on the role of Youth Minister here at St. Pius, beginning his ministry in December 2011. Andrew
was raised here in Brantford, and has been a member of the St. Pius X community all his life. He worked at the Parish from October
2002 until February 2005 as the Sunday Coordinator and at various times during that period in the role of Office Assistant.
From September 2004 to February 2005 Andrew also completed a co-operative education module at St. Pius through his high school,
taking on the role of interim Youth Minister. From 2000 to present Andrew has volunteered in a variety of roles, including as a
Eucharistic Minister, Reader, Mass Coordinator, Confirmation Leader, Peer Youth Leader, and Children’s Liturgy Teacher. Andrew has
been an active member of the Youth Ministry program here at St. Pius, and during his time at university, since 2001. Andrew recently
completed his Bachelor of Theology degree from Huron University College at The University of Western Ontario with a double major
in Historical and Systematic Theology and Political Science, with an additional focus on Ethical Philosophy. Andrew is extremely
excited to have the opportunity to minister to the fellow youth of his parish.

Below is a description of the various Youth Ministry programs available at St. Pius X Parish
|
Youth Group: Grades 5-8
|

Our Youth Group is open to any young person from Grades 5-8. We typically meet on a bi-weekly basis on Sunday evenings from 5:00pm
until 6:45pm. We conclude our gatherings by joining in with the 7pm Mass. Parents are asked to pick up their children no later than
8:15pm unless otherwise stated. There is no fee for Youth Group unless for special events. All meetings are in the Church Hall
unless otherwise stated.

Young Adult Ministry: Grades 9-12

Our Young Adult Ministry is open to any young person from Grades 9-12. We typically meet on a bi-weekly basis on Saturday afternoons
from 3:00pm until 4:45pm. We conclude our gatherings by joining in with the 5pm Mass. Parents are asked to pick up their young
people no later than 6:15pm unless otherwise stated. There is no fee for Young Adult Ministry unless for special events. All
meetings are in the Church Hall of St. Pius X Church unless otherwise stated.

Children’s Liturgy

Children, ages 5-9, are invited to take part in the celebration of God’s Word each Sunday during the 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses.
Children’s Liturgy takes place downstairs in the Chapel. Children’s Liturgy typically follows the school year calendar; beginning in
September and concluding at the end of June.

Vacation Bible School
|

Vacation Bible School is a week long summer day camp available for children ages 5-11. This year, our VBS tentatively scheduled
for July 30th to August 3rd, 2012. Registration will begin in June 2012.
